LAS VEGAS &mdash; Full-line furniture resource Coaster Fine Furniture will occupy a new space starting at the summer Las Vegas Market as part of a strategy to offer a more focused and in some cases market-tested product mix across its upholstery and case goods segments.
The company will move from its 60,000-square-foot space on the 16th floor of Building C to a 21,000-square-foot space just off the escalator in space A-800, 801, which was formerly occupied by Klaussner. In addition to providing what it believes is easier access for buyers, the space will feature a new &ldquo;bought product&rdquo; strategy led by Crystal Nguyen, vice president of merchandise and strategic product planning. Included in this mix are 200 products that can be ordered and shipped immediately, compared to the 400-600 products the company showed in its prior location.
&ldquo;We will have on-hand inventory of our bestsellers, and orders have already been placed on our brand-new product with shipments arriving in time to boost retailers&rsquo; 2024 sales productivity with sales-driving, high-value introductions,&rdquo; Nguyen said, noting that in the past, the company would show an extensive mix of SKUs and then decide what to add based on customer feedback. &ldquo;There will be absolutely nothing on the showroom floor that buyers and designers will have to wonder, &lsquo;will this be a go or not?&rsquo; because all of the purchasing decisions have already been made.&rdquo;
The product the company has committed to producing that will be shown in the new space can be shipped container direct from Asia and from Coaster&rsquo;s domestic warehouses.
Nguyen added that the strategy also takes advantage of one of Coaster&rsquo;s key differentiators, which is the research time the company invests in the development of exclusive products to help retailers stand out in their respective marketplaces.
&ldquo;Me-too looks drive retail profit margins down,&rdquo; Nguyen said, adding. &ldquo;Retailers who want to create excitement on their floors should make plans to visit our new showroom in Vegas this summer. We&rsquo;ve done the research and devoted a great deal of time to design and product development with an eye toward creating outstanding values that are designed to make their doors swing. Additionally, we are coupling the products with retail-focused merchandising and display ideas in the new showroom to create even more excitement. We&rsquo;re confident that the new products will be very well received, and we&rsquo;ve done our part to ensure our customers will be able to get the products into inventory quickly.&rdquo;
